The iPhone 7 release date will
undoubtedly cause a frenzy, but we can't forget about the cheaper
models. The iPhone 6c has been oft rumored as the 5c slowly becomes more
dated. Though with the budget model being one of Apple's newer
smartphone lines, who knows if they'll even update it? apparently, has the answer.
To the untrained eye, this may look simply like an iPhone 5c case. Upon
closer inspection however, the (possibly photoshopped) iPhone rear shell
has some alterations. For one, the flash cutout is a round rectangle
instead of the current circle. This could mean the iPhone 6c will
finally receive Apple's
Unlike flash that simply shines light, Apple's double-colored flash
bulb offers two colors supporting both cool and warm color
temperatures.
If these iPhone 6c photos are to be believed, little has changed between
the old and new versions. The same polycarbonate casing appears to be
used in the new edition and similar colors can be expected as well.
Another key difference however between the iPhone 6c and current budget
model is the speaker grille. Which, if you ask us, slightly decreases
this photo leak's validity.
The speaker grille pictured on this iPhone 6c shell leak shows an extra
row of holes on the left and right sides. Yet this would likely mean a
thicker overall case -- Apple tends to err on the side of thinness. Why
increase the thickness if iPhones currently sound perfectly fine. The
microphone hole also receives an extra, and unnecessary, five holes to
match. The iPhone 6c rumored alterations look more to be change for the
sake of change rather than added functionality. If this is the budget
model of the iPhone 6, we'd expect the polycarbonate version of just
that: the iPhone 6.
Few besides Apple know exactly what the iPhone 7 unveiling will have in
store for buyers. Though a revamp of their budget line would make sense
for the smartphone company. We'll know more details regarding upcoming
iOS devices as it gets later in the year.
